Christians have disagreed rather sharply with each other regarding the word “election” in Romans 9:11. The debate has raged whether God chooses those who are saved or whether God allows all people to either respond to or resist his grace. Despite the disagreements, all Christians can agree that the purpose and plan of God for all human beings collectively and individually will come to pass.
