The law of God makes us aware of sin. It lets us we see our sin for what it is. We realize that we are utterly sinful. However, as Paul makes clear in Romans 7:25 we praise and thank God for having delivered us from sin through Jesus Christ our Lord. We must read verses 14-24 in light of the victory that Christ has already wrought for us. We are not doomed to remain in a perpetual conflict with sin or be overcome by sin. Rather, we have been delivered from the law of sin and death to live a free and victorious life!
