Peter refers to the beginning of time, its nature, including how it relates to both God and us, the end of time, and, quite importantly, how we are to live out our time on earth. Since God has ordained humanity's timeline, Peter reminds us that we must live our lives on earth by learning from and redeeming the past, living according to God’s plan in the present, and preparing for the future in light of eternity.
