In this passage, Peter expresses his rather urgent desire to refresh the believers’ memories of Jesus because he knows that he is going to soon be put to death. But Peter is fully prepared for his departure from the world and the eager welcome he will receive into the eternal kingdom of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Peter provides a great example of how we should also prepare to die.
