Judges 2 presents a recurring pattern in the Israelites’ history—a cycle of sin and deliverance. This cycle, detailed throughout the book, illustrates the people's increasing corruption and their drift away from the Lord. However, in each cycle, the Lord's mercy prevails. He appoints a judge, who leads the people and frees them from their oppressors.
