After teaching, correcting, rebuking, and encouraging the Corinthians through 14 chapters, Paul returns to the one topic that he believes is of utmost importance: the gospel message, the good news of what Jesus has done. It is by the gospel that we are saved if we hold firmly to the word that was preached, that is, if we apply the word, and live by the word.
