In this passage, Paul begins with a spirited defense of his ministry and his rights. He then makes a case for ministers being eligible to receive material benefits from their ministry. And he concludes with why he has chosen to not receive any material benefits from the Corinthians. As he does in previous passages, he makes it clear that he is willing to forego his rights for the sake of others and for the sake of the gospel.
