All the things that happened to the children of Israel in the exodus from Egypt serve as examples for us. From their acts of rebellion against God, we learn of the progressive nature of sin and idolatry that leads to judgment. We learn that we are to continually examine ourselves. We are to guard against pride and thinking that we are standing firm in our own strength. We trust in the Lord who is faithful to help us endure.
