Paul states that he is not concerned that the Corinthians are judging him. And he is not even judging himself. Because he has a clear conscience. The conscience is not merely a referee of our thoughts but a consciousness of God’s truth and good and light and love that could only come from the Holy Spirit. A clear conscience is possible only through the cleansing blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
