Acts 11:20 says that some men “from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.” The faithful obedience of these unnamed, ordinary Christians resulted in a number of people believing in Jesus and turning to the Lord. The local church in Antioch played an important role in the ministry and missionary journeys of Paul. It was the place where the term “Christian” originated. When we identify as Christians, we’re tracing our roots to Antioch. When we follow the example of these ordinary Antiochian Christians to live ordinary lives in Christ, we end up living extraordinarily.
