A few hours before his arrest, Jesus was in such agony as he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane that “his sweat was like drops of blood.” Yet, he repeatedly returns to the disciples to urge them to watch and pray so that they don’t “fall into temptation.” Temptation affects the spirit, the soul, and the body. We give in, give up, and give out. Thank God that he knows exactly what we’re going through and is willing to restore us even when we fall. Jesus’ works in us to renew our spirits, transform our minds, and enable the members of our body to be instruments of righteousness.
