Life in Six Words, part 4
God created us to have a relationship with Him (Genesis 1-2).
Our sins separate us from God (Genesis 3).
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds (Genesis 4 - Malachi).
That's the bad news! Now we get to the good news!
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John).
Because God loved us, because God wanted to have a relationship with us, because there was no way we could reach God on our own...He came to earth in human form to save us.
Jesus set aside His power and became one uf us. He lived a perfect life, loving people, healing them, and preaching His coming Kingdom. He was taken by religious people who hated Him, cruelly beaten, and crucified...all according to Scripture. Then three days later, He came back to life, defeating death and making a way for us to have a relationship with Him. He loved us so much that while we were His enemies, He died in our place. He did this so we could live eternally with Him. That's what we'll discuss next week!
