Marilyn and I are out of town. I forgot to bring my guitar to record the verse for this coming Sunday, but I had recorded a quick version after I wrote it to make sure I remembered. Soooooo...here it is, raw and unedited:

Jeremiah was 13-16 when he was called by Yahweh to be a prophet. He was the same age as Brenden or Katelyn. No wonder he was encouraged to "not be afraid of the people." Those people, many of them preaching false messages, spent his entire ministry persecuting him. In fact, Jeremiah never changed a single person, and yet he obeyed the Lord completely. God never promised that Jeremiah would not experience pain and persecution. His promise was:

"I will be with you." And so he was.

Read the beginning verses of Jeremiah 1. Talk to your students about what it would feel like to be called by God to be His messenger to an entire people.

Because they are..."Go into all the world and make disciples."

And they have received the same promise..."I will be with you, even to the end of the age."

Amen!
